Permanent Pictorial Cancellation of Indore GPO – A Tribute to Dharohar Rajwada

On March 4, 2021, a new permanent pictorial cancellation was released by Madhya Pradesh Postal circle at the Philatelic Bureau of Indore GPO. This cancellation features the famous Dharohar Rajwada, a historical gem of Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Why Dharohar Rajwada?

The cancellation on Dharohar Rajwada honors Indore’s royal legacy. Rajwada is a seven-storey palace, built about two centuries ago by the Holkars of the Maratha Empire. Located near the Chhatris, the structure reflects Maratha architecture and grandeur.

About Dharohar Rajwada

Now maintained by the Archaeology Department.
