
To commemorate the 300th birth anniversary of Punyashlok Ahilyabai Holkar, a Special Cover with a Special Cancellation was released at her birthplace, Chondi, Ahilyanagar. The event was held during a Maharashtra State Cabinet meeting, adding both historical and governmental significance.
The cover was presented by Shri Abhijit Bansode, Director of Postal Services (Pune Region), in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, who led the ceremony. Several dignitaries were in attendance, including Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Eknath Shinde and Shri Ajit Dada Pawar, Legislative Council Chairman Shri Ram Shinde, Chief Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar, and Additional Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Kharge. Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and MLCs also graced the occasion.

Born in 1725, Ahilyabai Holkar rose to become one of the most respected rulers in Indian history. After her husband’s untimely death, she governed the Malwa region with fairness, wisdom, and strength.
