On World Turtle Day 2025, Kendrapara Postal Division under Odisha Postal Circle, unveiled a special pictorial cancellation. This postmark #shellebrates the Olive Ridley turtles that flock to Gahirmatha Beach every year. It’s all about their incredible arrival and safe migration.
The goal behind releasing this cancellation was to spread awareness about environmental protection and biodiversity. Postmaster Shri Ranjan Kumar Sahu was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony. He described this initiative as a deep gesture towards environmental protection.

Among others, Assistant Postmaster Shri Bibhuti Bhushan Panda, Postmaster, Kendrapara Head Post Office, Shri Suresh Chandra Swain, Philatelist Shri Ajit Kumar Raut and Shri Haripad Panda were present as the guests of honour.
