About the Warrior Queen: Rani Chennabhairadevi

Known as the Queen of Pepper, Rani Chennabhairadevi ruled over the region of Gerusoppa for more than 50 years during the 16th century. A skilled administrator and fearless leader, she stood her ground against the Portuguese, defended her kingdom, and encouraged trade and culture.

Despite her pivotal role in history, her story has remained underrepresented — until now.

The Release Ceremony

Organized by the Excellent Education Foundation, Moodbidri, the event saw participation from dignitaries including:

  • Shri Prahalad Joshi, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution
  • Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Padmavibhushan awardee and Rajya Sabha member
  • Shri Yuvaraja Jain, Chairman of Excellent Group of Educational Institutions
  • Shri Abhayachandra Jain, former Karnataka Minister
